It has been forever

Well folks, it has been a very long time since I posted. Always seem to be busy at something or other. We here are doing well. Dave and I have been (mostly me) have been painting the rooms in the house. We had new windows put in and are now painting and soon will be putting in the window casings. Of course, our dogs are doing well. Nukkee is getting old and slowing down alot, but the other 2 are still pretty full of energy and Dave takes them on a 3 mile hike pretty much every day. They love it.

Next, the grand kids. Wow, they are growing up, going to school, involved in sports. Devin has begun his grade 1 and seems to be doing quite well. Rides the bus everyday and has asked his Mom not to come out and meet the bus in the afternoon. He is a big boy, apparently, and likes to run to the house on his own. He grew up so fast after starting school last year. He played soccer this spring. He seemed to really enjoy it. Got them to get rid of some energy that was pent up. LOL

Ian also played soccer....was so much fun to watch the boys play as they don't really know the rules so they just run all over the soccer fields and kick goals into either goalie. We laughed lots and really enjoyed this special time. Ian has started pre-school this fall. Loves it. As I knew he would.....He is a social butterfly that one. Apparently can't wait to get out the door in the morning. He too is growing up fast. Both boys now have their bedrooms in the basement. So each has their own space and a little more room. Ian doesn't always sleep the whole night down stairs. Every now and then Jodi finds him in his old bed on the main floor. But for the most part, he sleeps down stairs. They both take turns spending weekends with Grandma and Papa whenever possible.

Now we have little Levi. What a little man he is. Wow, attitude and temper.......whew...... you can tell he is a redhead. But what a charmer and smart as a whip that little one. He loves to play outside and absolutely loves animals. Besides looking more like his mom then the other two, he also has many of her traits and the love of animals comes from her and his grandmas. He is growing up way too fast. We tried keeping him a baby as long as possible, but of course we are unable to do that for long. I have enclosed pics of all the boys and their summertime activities. Hope everyone enjoys the blog post.
Bye for now

June was busy

Hi everyone in blogger land. It has been a little while since my last post. I know, but life is busy, and I don't always have lots to enter. Anyway, June held for us 2 graduations. Dave's son Alex graduated from high school and our oldest grandson Devin graduated from pre-school. Both graduations were wonderful and we had a really good time. Of course grandma was teary eyed cause her first grandchild took the first leap into growing up. Why can time not stand still just for a short while, so I can catch up. We spent some time out in Deloraine and Brandon and then lots of busyness in Winnipeg over the past 2 weeks. Ian is doing great. We spent some time in Brandon with Auntie Cory and Uncle Bob, and Ian wiggled his way into Auntie Cory's heart. He is such a charmer. He spends lots of time outside and loves to be with grandpa Rosenthal and the shop. He is like a little farmer. He knows everything about all the machinery. Last week, I was sitting on the loveseat holding Levi, and he came and sat beside me with a flyer full of farm machinery for sale and said "Grandma, do you want to sit and talk tractors with me?" I nearly laughed off the couch. He is just so darned cute. Devin as I said before has now graduated from pre-school and will be starting kindergarten in the fall. He will be going to school for full days every other day. He is in a class of only around 10 children and has a male teacher. He too comes off with some wild stuff. Last week after the family picnic, I was helping him get into the truck and he said to me, "grandma, that boy _____ (can't remember the name) made me really "distraught". I laughed, sometimes they come off with the biggest words and usually in the right context. He is every so wonderful with his baby brother, and looks after him well. Speaking of baby brother, Levi is doing awesome. Growing like a bad weed. He is over 14 pounds and is 3 months old. We are pretty convinced that this little boy is going to have red hair and brown eyes. Jodi was so convinced that this pregnancy was different to the other 2, and now we know why lol. His sleeping is hit and miss. More like Devin's patterns rather then Ian's which is unfortunate, but oh well, you can't have everything go smoothly. Anyway, I guess I have ranted on long enough, I will post some pics and be on my way.

Levi is 18 days old

Well all, hopefully everything will start to settle down now. Levi is doing well, he is growing everyday. The concern of jaundice is past, and he eats and sleeps well, tho sometimes he sleeps when he should be eating, hahahaha. His big brothers are doing okay too. Devin is finishing up the last term of pre school, and will be graduating in June. Soon it will be off to kindergarten for him. Man........... I can't believe how time flies. He is going to kindergarten in the fall screeeeam. Unbelieveable, seems like he was just born yesterday. He has been a big help with the new baby, he always says "I sure love baby Levi, Mommy". And he truly does. He alerts everyone as soon as the baby makes any sort of noise. He has been a big help. Ian on the other hand is a tad bit jealous I would say. He is very good with Levi and is usually quite gentle with him, but he will only let "Mommy doit" for everything that he used to let someone else do. He was always a daddy's boy or grandma, but now, we don't count, only mommy. Hopefully he will get past this soon. I have added a couple of pics of Levi and the boys. They were taken when Levi was 18 days old. Enjoy and hope to see all real soon.

In remembrance of Mom who left us 2 years ago today

Christmas without you is going to be bad
For in our hearts, we feel very sad
We love you and miss you more everyday
More than these words could tell or say

You made Christmas special for all of us here
With all your laughter, love and cheer
Your smile was so warm and your hug so tight
Christmas without you just doesn't seem right

You won't be with us in body we know
For according to God's plan it was your time to go
But Christmas in Heaven has to be grand
To be standing with Jesus hand in hand

On Christmas Eve we'll go and we'll pray
Look up to Heaven and to you we will say
Each year may get easier, this we know
But we miss you anyway, and love you so

Devin water sliding

I tried putting this with the other blog, did not go through. So here is Devin, water sliding at

fun mountain. We had so much fun.

Summertime Fun

Hello all. Well, unfortunately summer is half over already. We have had alot of rain and mega mosquitos here. To my liking, cooler temps. I cannot stand the heat anymore, and am not suppose to be out in the sun much, so this is my kind of weather. Anyway, we have had a busy summer, last week Jodi, myself and the boys went to tinker town. We spent 4 hours there and the boys had a fantastic time.
In this picture, Ian is riding with his friend Stephanie in one of the cars. They look like an old married couple, nattering at each other. We spent a wonderful afternoon there as always. The boys had a grand time and the weather was just perfect.

In this picture, Devin and Ian are driving a car together. It was funny watching Devin, cause he was steeringaround the corners and curves like he had been driving for years already. Ian was freaked out by the ridesto begin with, until Jodi took him on the merry-go-round, then he relaxed and went on everything and morethan once.

Devin has been spending lots of overnights with Grandma and Papa. Everytime I have days off, he spends anovernight or 2, and he flips out when he has to go home. We really enjoy his time here and I find it lonelywhen he goes home.
In this picture, Devin is playing our new Wii. He is playing Mario Kart, a driving game. This child isreally into xbox, wii and computer games. I am amazed how he navigates around the menus without being able to read. Amazing.

Yesterday we went to Fun Mountain. That was a riot. Ian did not like the water slides, but I think mostly because his first time down he ended up turning backwards and going head first half way down. Then we tried taking him down with Jodi or I and he ended up screaming all the way down. So he just hung out on the side of the pool, in the hot tub or in Jodi's arms. Devin had an absolute blast. He went down and up and down and up hundreds of times. He loved it. He hit the bottom, went under, came up with a mouth full of water, spit it out and headed up the hill again. By later in the day he had mastered slowing himself down by the time he got to the end, and then did not even go under water. He even did pretty good getting in line. We had a great day and hopefully will get back there before the end of summer again.
Well, this is it for now. Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. Will blog again soon.
